I'm really screwing the blog up now. It just won't change to a minima template so that I can change it to a cute background. And now I have the ugly dot background with my holiday one?! Arrrrr.... I can't get rid of the holiday background totally? Someone help....

did you delete the whole html gadget (the one for the cutest blog on the block background) in your layout? I tried that website and it worked for me, so hopefully you can get it working. Good luck
